Alpine A290 – Top Gear Magazine (Apr 2024)



Project Description:

Commissioned by Top Gear magazine for the April 2024 issue, this illustration project focused on revealing the highly anticipated Alpine A290 electric hot hatch — before its official debut. With no press images available at the time, my task was to analyze spy shots and camouflaged test cars to recreate the production model with remarkable accuracy.

Working from disguised prototypes and subtle visual clues, I reconstructed the car’s final design — from its lighting signatures and performance-focused stance to key surfacing details and proportions. The result was a series of illustrations that felt credible, detailed, and ahead of the curve.

The visuals became the centerpiece of Top Gear's “The Hot Hatch Lives” cover story — alongside speculative previews of the next-gen Mini Cooper SE and VW ID.GTI. My render of the Alpine A290 appeared on the front cover and across a double-page spread, offering readers an exclusive look at the car — weeks before its official reveal — with what proved to be stunning accuracy.
