BMW 3 Series (CLAR) – Auto Zeitung Magazine (Mar 2025)

Project Description:

Created for the March 2025 cover of Auto Zeitung, this illustration showcases the upcoming BMW 3 Series (G50) — the combustion-powered sibling to the electric i3. My render was based on camouflaged prototypes and insider intel, visualizing the CLAR-platform model in a sporty M340i guise, ahead of its official reveal.

In contrast to the sleeker i3 riding on BMW’s Neue Klasse EV architecture, the new 3 Series retains a more traditional stance — featuring a longer hood, upright windshield, and a pronounced dash-to-axle ratio. Design elements like the shark-nose grille, flared fenders, quad tailpipes, and flush door handles were carefully reconstructed to reflect BMW’s intent to differentiate both models while preserving a shared lineage.

To complement the static visuals, I also created revolutionary animated video content of the illustrated 3 Series, bringing it to life through motion. This clip was designed for use across the magazine’s digital platforms and social media — extending the project beyond print and showcasing the car’s presence in a dynamic, cinematic format.

The final render headlined the cover and led the magazine’s “Diese Stars kommen bald!” feature, offering readers a detailed, realistic preview of one of BMW’s most iconic nameplates as it enters a new era.
